Media Processing Server (MPS)

Offering optimized downloadable video and audio for mobile devices has become a sound go-to-market strategy for companies expanding into delivering content on the mobile Internet. However, manually producing static content that works on most mobile devices is a challenge. Additionally, managing and maintaining this content is time-consuming and unrealistic.

Fresh Platform’s Media Processing Server (MPS) solves this problem. Upon adding content to the Fresh Platform, it is automatically analyzed and put into a queue for processing. Here is the typical flow that your rich-media goes through, after you have uploaded it to Fresh:

1. Rich Media content (the master file) is placed in a processing queue
2. When the MPS reaches that content in the queue, it locates the file and analyzes the properties
3. The MPS pulls the latest media specifications from our proprietary database and decides which formats it will convert this content to
4. The MPS converts the master file into multiple files with the specified, optimal settings
5. Each newly created format goes through an integrity check using a number of calculations
6. Upon satisfaction, the format is then inserted into the client database, and becomes accessible for download within your content catalog
7. When a user comes to your WAP site requesting rich content, the Fresh Platform appropriately selects the optimized file for delivery
